[NEW YORK] The S&P 500 and the Dow opened near record highs on Tuesday (Jan 13) after a largely in-line inflation report sustained expectations of rate cuts this year, while investors weighed mixed quarterly results from JPMorgan and Delta Air Lines.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 26.8 points at the open to 49,616.95.
The S&P 500 fell 0.1 points to 6,977.41, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.2 points to 23,735.122. REUTERS
