Liverpool continue to be linked with several players this month, but it remains to be seen whether they will dip into the transfer market after a hefty summer outlay

Liverpool have a few weeks left of the January transfer window to complete any business before the February 2 deadline. So far, the club have made just one addition this month, confirming the arrival of Mor Talla Ndiaye last week.

The 18‑year‑old is expected to link up with the Under‑21s after arriving on Merseyside. Following a heavy summer spend of £466million, the Reds may instead look to line up deals for the summer, particularly after what has been a disappointing campaign so far.

Arne Slot’s side sit fourth in the Premier League, 14 points behind leaders Arsenal. The Reds have struggled for consistency, but they have progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup and remain on course to reach the Champions League knockout stages.

Off the pitch, several players continue to be linked with a move to Anfield, and with that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at the latest transfer rumours.

Liverpool handed huge Yan Diomande boost

Yan Diomande has made clear his desire to play for Liverpool, revealing that he is a ‘huge’ supporter of the club. The RB Leipzig youngster has quickly become one of Europe’s standout emerging talents, attracting growing attention across the continent.

Liverpool have naturally been linked with the winger, while Bayern Munich are also reportedly in the chase. German outlet BILD (via Sport Witness) have quoted the RB Leipzig winger saying: “I want to play for Liverpool.

“I’m a huge Liverpool fan. My dad dreams of seeing me play at Anfield!” Manchester City and Chelsea have also previously been named as suitors alongside Liverpool.

Marc Guehi ‘phone calls’

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has made fresh phone calls regarding Marc Guehi in an effort to persuade the defender to join him at the Allianz Arena. Eberl is also said to have met Guehi’s agent ‘a few weeks ago.’

Bayern are reportedly refusing to give up, while Liverpool are understood to be pushing for a summer move and Manchester City are keen on a potential transfer this winter. Meanwhile, The Athletic reports that Arsenal and Liverpool are the clubs Guehi is interested in joining, though not until the summer when his contract runs out.

Liverpool had a bid of £35million plus £5m in add-ons accepted last summer, but did not get that deal over the line on transfer deadline day. Palace reportedly feel they can get a similar fee in January, with City very keen after losing key defenders Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias to injury, while John Stones is also out.
