New year, new reading goals.

So, it only makes sense to have a crop of new releases to add to that ever-growing TBR list. Chief among them, The First Time I Saw Him, the sequel to Laura Dave’s 2021 hit The Last Thing He Told Me.

In Dave’s new book, out now, Hannah Hall’s world is, once again, turned upside down after a sudden death puts an end to the agreement guaranteeing their safety. As she and her missing husband’s daughter Bailey go on the run, racing across the U.S. and abroad, they unpack the secrets in Bailey’s family that started this mess and try to find a way to finally reunite with her dad Owen.

And soon enough readers will be able to see this action-packed adventure on the screen as it provides the source material for season two of Jennifer Garner’s Apple TV series The Last Thing He Told Me.

Another BookTok favorite author making a return is Colleen Hoover, who transformed her “Saint” short story into the very tense Woman Down, out now.
