Mohamed Salah made more history on Saturday as Liverpool hammered Newcastle with the Egyptian’s exploits at Anfield taking him ahead of Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry
Mohamed Salah made more Premier League history on Saturday night with an assist that saw him register the most goal contributions at a single ground ever.
The Egyptian’s difficult season continues as he fired another blank, but he helped lay on one for his team-mate as the Reds hammered Newcastle to snap a five-game winless run in the league.
It means his total at Anfield reads 107 goals and 45 assists – totalling 152. Now putting him clear of Wayne Rooney, who had 151 at Old Trafford, a haul that included 101 goals for Manchester United.
Thierry Henry‘s exploits at Highbury once had him leading the list. Like Rooney he had 151 goal involvements, which was made up of 114 goals and 37 assists.
Salah has now set himself apart as he claims more records in England’s top flight. He has been ruthless for much of his time with the Reds, especially at their Merseyside base, and now boasts an achievement that looks set to stand for sometime.

The Egyptian faces an uncertain future at Anfield beyond this season, despite signing a lucrative new deal less than a year ago. His form has dropped off – he’s yet to hit double figures and is on course to register his worst goalscoring season at the club – and his age is now being used against him.
Salah himself did little to quash any talk of him moving on when he launched an attack in the aftermath of a draw at Leeds in December. He claimed the club had “thrown him under the bus” and that he had no relationship with Arne Slot, who had been benching the forward.
Liverpool, who lost late on at Bournemouth last week, must’ve been fearing that poor run would continue after Anthony Gordon put Newcastle ahead. That lead only lasted five minutes before Hugo Ekitike began the comeback with the Reds victory after falling behind for the first time since April.
Slot said: “I think so many times we’ve come back from going behind and so many times we showed mentality, but unfortunately – like last week – we conceded in the end. So, I think not only coming back from [going behind] and winning it, I think it’s the whole way we won it. The way we defended in our box, the desire we had to attack the other box.”
