Jacob Tierney isn’t interested in calming these intimate flames.

With a second season of Heated Rivalry on the way, the creator of the Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie-led series shared new details about the upcoming installment, including why he’s not rushing the process amid the rising fandom on social media.

“As much as I appreciate how rabid and interested people are at this point, the first season worked because I trusted my gut with this,” Jacob, 46, told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published Feb. 3, “and I’m going to do that again.”

With that said, the director confirmed the next chapter of the show—which is largely centered around The Long Game, the sixth book in Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series—will air in spring 2027.

As for how much of the book, which follows hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov as they continue to navigate their relationship in secret, will appear in season two? Jacob has kept mum. However, he emphasized he has no interest in deviating from the six-episode format of season one.
