Banned PGA Tour star Wesley Bryan has opened up on his suspension after playing in a LIV Golf creator event last year
Wesley Bryan has disclosed that the PGA Tour dismissed his appeal with “no conversation necessary” after his wife submitted a comprehensive letter following Brooks Koepka’s return from LIV Golf. Koepka, who has claimed five major championships, made his PGA Tour return last week after spending four years with LIV Golf.
The 35-year-old managed a T-56 finish at Torrey Pines in his opening tournament back. Whilst Koepka’s performance wasn’t spectacular, numerous golf enthusiasts were thrilled to witness his PGA Tour comeback. However, one golfer who won’t be appearing at PGA Tour events anytime soon is Bryan.
In 2025, Bryan received a suspension from the PGA Tour for participating in LIV Golf’s nine-hole influencer scramble competition, Duels. He competed in the initial two Creator Classics, securing second- and sixth-place finishes.
Bryan hasn’t featured on the PGA Tour since his ban, though there were expectations that a comeback might be approved after Koepka’s suspension was lifted for the Farmers Insurance Open in late January.
Bryan, who has secured four professional victories throughout his career, has now addressed his suspension, revealing that he and his wife submitted a “really well thought out” letter to the PGA Tour requesting his reinstatement.

However, according to Bryan, the PGA Tour’s response proved deeply disappointing. “We got a response saying they reviewed the letter,” Bryan revealed to Skratch.
“But it was from basically their assistant saying ‘no conversation is necessary.’ That was pretty difficult. Like, why can’t we talk on the phone for 10 or 15 minutes?”
In addition to Koepka, Patrick Reed has also parted ways with LIV Golf to re-join the PGA Tour ahead of the 2026 season.

When quizzed about Koepka and Reed, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler commented: “When you look at a lot of the discussions we’ve had and when you look at what a lot of fans are saying, I think people want the best people playing together again.
“So when it comes to great players like Brooks or Patrick Reed, Patrick Reed is a major champion and I think Brooks Koepka has won five majors, so having those guys competing out here is great for the tour, great for fans, and great for our sponsors.
“I think the last few years there has just been a lot of noise, and so I think getting those guys back is another step towards us just being able to play golf again. That’s what I’m looking forward to most.”
