Newsboy’s racing tips for Tuesday’s three meetings, including Newcastle Nap

Newsboy expects his nap to score a fifth career win at Newcastle in the 6.15, and he also rates a Gordon Elliott bumper contender in the 4.35 at Ayr

FRANCESI (6.15) can notch up a fifth career success in the Win 250,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap over a mile at Newcastle this evening.

The seven-year-old won on his debut at Lingfield as a juvenile back in April 2022, and remarkably failed to see the winners’ circle again until 43 starts later – nearly three years and eight months – over course and distance with apprentice Myla Coppins in the saddle. Since then the same combination has scored over track and trip on New Year ’s Day and thy followed up nine days later at Lingfield Park.

Tony Carroll’s charge has run well on his two most recent starts, finishing in solid silver medal slots at Wolverhampton and at Lingfield on Saturday, and another bold showing is predicted.

At Ayr, Gordon Elliott sends a quartet of runners over the Irish Sea, with POETIC TWIST (4.35) looking the pick of them in the closing Watch On Racing TV Mares’ Open NH Flat Race.

Elliott has booked Sean Bowen to ride the five year-old, who can build on a promising debut in a bumper at Cork 39 days ago, when fourth behind Moonverrin.

The winner has franked the form since with success in a Grade 2 bumper at Leopardstown during the Dublin Racing Festival.
