Ralf Schumacher’s ex-wife said her piece on the latest news surrounding the former F1 star and his partner
Cora Schumacher has extended her best wishes to ex-husband Ralf Schumacher as he prepares to tie the knot with partner Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne. The former Formula One driver, younger sibling of motorsport legend Michael Schumacher, was previously wed to Cora from 2001 until 2015.
The pair share son David, who is 24, but went their separate ways more than 10 years ago. Ralf, 50, publicly confirmed in 2024 that he was in a relationship with Etienne, who is 14 years younger than him.
Less than two years after coming out, the ex-racing star is reportedly gearing up for another walk down the aisle. German publication Bild reports that a lavish three-day celebration is being organised for Saint-Tropez this May.
While relations between Ralf and Cora have been frosty since their divorce – which saw her torch her wedding dress and block his phone number – it appears the ice has finally melted, with Cora offering warm congratulations to the couple.

Speaking to Bild, the 49-year-old said: “[My partner] Steven and I wish Ralf and Etienne all the best and much happiness.” She was referring to her current boyfriend Steven Bo Bekendam, a 44-year-old American.

Throughout his decade-long F1 career, Ralf drove for Jordan, Williams and Toyota, chalking up six victories and 27 podium finishes before retiring in 2007. He’s understood to be based largely in southern France with Etienne.
Though he maintains a presence in the media world, updates regarding the health of his elder brother Michael remain scarce. The seven-time world champion sustained a devastating brain injury during a skiing incident in December 2013 and hasn’t been spotted publicly since.
Latest accounts suggest the 57-year-old is no longer confined to his bed and is moved around his property in a wheelchair by carers, who look after the German round the clock.
His wife Corinna fiercely guards his privacy, permitting only a select few to see him. Yet Ralf suggested that his connection with his brother’s family may have become more distant.
In a 2023 interview with Bunte, he said: “Unfortunately, sometimes life isn’t fair. We have to accept it. When I see [Michael’s daughter] Gina-Maria and [his son] Mick, my heart smiles. If someone in the family is looking for my advice, I’m there. They go their own way.”
