Brett Harold Krause joined the group’s board as an independent non-executive director in May 2019
HONG Kong-listed ESR Group has named its existing independent non-executive director Brett Harold Krause as interim chair of its board, to replace Jeffrey David Perlman, who steps down on Sep 2.
This comes as Perlman is due to take on the chief executive role at private equity firm Warburg Pincus – a move that was announced in July.
On Friday (Aug 30), ESR said that Krause’s appointment will serve as an interim arrangement, pending the appointment of a full-time independent chairman, which the group aims to have in place by the first quarter of 2025.
Krause’s annual director’s fee of HK$705,000 (S$117,770) remains unchanged. He was appointed to the board as an independent non-executive director in May 2019. The 56-year-old is a member of the audit committee and chairs ESR’s remuneration and nomination committees.
Prior to joining ESR as an independent director, Krause was president of JPMorgan Chase Bank (China) from 2014 to 2016. He has also held leadership roles in Citigroup and served as an independent board director of East West Bank’s China subsidiary, as well as Vietnam-listed Vincom Retail.
He remains a general partner of venture capital firm Transcend Fund and chairman of Xterio, a cross-platform game developer and publisher.
