THE digital impact marketplace launched by Temasek Trust, Co-Axis, has partnered digital wealth platform Arta Finance to secure US$30 million for projects over two years.

The partnership will extend the reach of Co-Axis projects, which all align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, by leveraging Arta’s clientele of high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices for funding, said both parties in a joint statement on Thursday (Oct 24).

Clients of the digital wealth platform will gain access to more than 100 impact projects from over 40 countries via the Co-Axis platform, on top of eight additional ones curated for Arta Finance that align closely with its clients’ interests.

Projects, such as one involving Singapore-based social enterprise Wateroam, are among the investment opportunities Arta clients can access on the Co-Axis platform. Wateroam developed a portable water filter – Roamfilter Plus – that can be used for emergency response and remote deployment across the developing world.

Another project involves a coral reef restoration company Coral Vita, which utilises technology to plant corals back in degraded reefs at rates 50 times higher than normal.

Beyond opportunities involving charitable contributions, Arta Finance’s clients also have access to debt and equity instruments as it holds a capital markets services license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. This gives its clients an avenue to a wider range of impact investment strategies and approaches.

Noting that Asia faces “some of the world’s most significant environmental and social challenges”, Arta Finance country director for Singapore Amanda Ong added that the region is also “home to some of the most innovative solutions”.

“Asia’s unique demographic and economic dynamics present a particularly important opportunity for delivering impact at scale,” she said.

In line with the goal to unlock the catalytic funding for accelerating and scaling impact projects, Co-Axis head Joycelyn Ong believes the partnership will empower Arta clients to make more informed and strategic funding decisions.

Founded by former leaders at Google, Arta Finance provides a gateway for private market investments by enabling access to investment tools and financial solutions typically reserved for the ultra-wealthy.

The fintech company, which on Sep 11 snagged a Singapore Economic Development Board strategic investment of an undisclosed amount, is jointly headquartered in Singapore and the United States.
