Randy Moss is sharing a personal update amid his health battle.

Nearly two months after the ESPN commentator underwent surgery following his cancer diagnosis, the NFL alum made his first major appearance at the 2025 NFL Honors to present the award for Comeback Player of the Year to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

During his virtual appearance at the Feb. 6 event, the Pro Football Hall of Famer shared a message of gratitude for all the support he’s received at this time.

“I’m sorry I could not be there in person to join you all, but I want to send a special thank you to all of my doctors, my beautiful wife, my children, my family, my teammates and all the prayer warriors out there,” Moss—who shares daughter Lordes-Randi with wife Lydia Moss, as well as children Sydney, Thaddeus, Lexi, Montigo, Senali, Sylee and Lyric from previous relationships—said. “We are Mossing cancer, and I cannot wait to get back on television with all my guys.”

Referring to the honor given to the Cincinnati Bengals star, Moss—who retired from the NFL in 2012 after 14 seasons—added, “I am thrilled to present an award that I was honored to win myself back in 2007 with the New England Patriots. There’s no better story in the National Football League than the one about a player who does big things, overcomes adversity and faces obstacles—but ultimately finds their way back to the mountaintop.”
