Mohamed Salah transfer verdict given as showdown talks held with Liverpool icon
The latest Liverpool news as the drama surrounding rom Arne Slot and Mohamed Salah’s shocking fallout continues
The fallout between Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah and Reds boss Arne Slot continues to rumble on. The Egyptian star was left out of the squad for Tuesday evening’s Champions League win over Inter Milan.
Ahead of the match, Slot confirmed that Salah would be absent following his controversial comments over the weekend.
The 33-year-old forward had remained on the sidelines during Liverpool’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Saturday, marking his third consecutive match out of the starting XI.
Post-match, Salah said he felt he’d been “thrown under the bus” and claimed his relationship with Slot had broken down. In some of the latest Liverpool news, the Reds have now been urged to cash in on Salah while a club legend has reportedly met with club officials over his comments on the club in the media.
Salah transfer verdict
Salah had claimed that his relationship with head coach Slot had deteriorated and hinted that Sunday’s tie against Brighton could potentially be his last outing in a Liverpool shirt. Salah is set to join up with Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations on December 15.

Ex-Liverpool player Dean Saunders has now suggested that the club should part ways with Salah in the January transfer window, unless the Reds’ icon issues an apology.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Saunders said: “Surely him and his agent must have looked at the reaction and seen that not one person has said Mo Salah is right.
“Surely he must be thinking, ‘I’ve upset a load of Liverpool fans,’ to the point where I think they’d be glad if he went. To play for Liverpool is a privilege, whoever you are. I’ve had a look at it and he’s probably earned about £60m in wages in eight years.
“How he can say the club’s throwing him under the bus is beyond me. [He should] look in the mirror and don’t blame everybody else. But his comments were as if he thought, ‘The only way this club’s been doing well is because of me.’
“Unless he apologises in the next couple of days, where it doesn’t look like he’s going to, I’d sell him and get some money back for him.”
Carragher showdown talks
Liverpool reportedly held a meeting with club hero Jamie Carragher to discuss his coverage of the club. On Sky Sports Monday Night Football, the ex-defender delivered an astonishing eight-minute response to Salah’s criticism of Slot.
According to the Daily Mail, the club held a “secret meeting,” in September to discuss the way in which the pundit discusses Liverpool in the media. This was, however, held before his fallout with Salah and is not something that is uncommon.
Carragher claimed Salah was only “known as the man who failed at Chelsea” before he joined Liverpool, referencing the 33-year-old’s unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho. Salah scored two goals and registered three assists in only 19 appearances at Stamford Bridge between 2013 and 2015.
The same report claims that the ex-Liverpool star is comfortable with his approach to his work for Sky Sports and American network CBS, with one source insisting that his opinions are “honest” and “come from a good place”.
The same Mail report also claimed, however, that several members of the Liverpool squad have become ‘irritated’ by the 47-year-old’s comments.
Carragher later apologised for his rant on Monday Night Football, saying: “Mo, I apologise I’ve upset you. I love you as the Liverpool player, but you just need to behave yourself off the pitch.”
