Carrie Underwood‘s bleach blonde hair is carved into our minds.
However, the country singer has returned to her roots—literally.
While Carrie shared earlier this year that she was embracing her natural hair color, she recently debuted her darkest waves yet. In her Dec. 12 selfie, she revealed the warm-toned brunette color with highlights, but no sign of her previous bleached blonde style.
The color, which complements her dark brown eyebrows and brown eyes, makes for a totally new look for the “Before He Cheats” singer.
In fact, for some fans she resembled a completely different person, as one user wrote in the comments, “Didn’t even look like Carrie,” while another questioned, “Is this Carrie? Doesn’t look like her.”
However, her fans still shared their love for the Grammy winner’s new look, even if it isn’t the hair they know from her American Idol days.
“Natural beauty is where it’s at,” another user wrote. “So pretty always.”
