Inside the Next Chapter: A Conversation with Katherine Kelly Lang

Inside the Next Chapter: A Conversation with Katherine Kelly Lang

2025 was a breakthrough year, a year of stepping out of comfort zones, planting seeds, and beginning to walk boldly into the world of fashion and creative expression. As 2026 unfolds, there’s an electric sense that this is just the beginning.

1. You’ve described 2025 as a transformational year in your life and career. How would you define this chapter?

Absolutely transformational. It was about stepping out of the familiar, taking risks, exploring a world I’ve always loved but hadn’t fully claimed as my own, and shaking off the myth that reinvention has an expiration date. It was a year of doing the inner work, planting seeds, and showing up for myself in new arenas. I feel like I earned the right to play on my own terms.

2. A big theme emerging from your recent interviews is empowerment at any age. What does that mean to you today?

It’s about recognising your own power isn’t tied to youth — it’s tied to choice, clarity, and courage. Reinvention isn’t reserved for the young. It belongs to anyone brave enough to claim it. Your voice matters at every stage of your life, and stepping into your truth is the most empowering thing you can do.

3. In 2025, you began embracing fashion more profoundly. What drew you into that world?

Fashion has always been a love of mine — it’s storytelling without words. After decades in front of the camera, I wanted to express different parts of myself. The creative collaborations — they’ve given me a new way to communicate identity, power, and joy. Fashion is a language I’m still learning, and I’m enjoying every step.

4. Taking bold risks can be intimidating. How did you navigate stepping out of your comfort zone?

I started by asking myself: What part of me is waiting to be expressed? The answer was clear — none. That clarity changed everything. When you stop asking for permission to evolve, you open doors that were always there, but you never walked through. That’s where growth lives.

5. You’ve been recognised as Glamour’s Woman of the Year — among other honours. What did that recognition mean at this stage?

It was incredibly humbling and affirming. Not because of the attention, but because it acknowledged a journey of personal evolution. Being celebrated in rooms filled with women breaking barriers reminded me that stepping into new spaces isn’t just about you — it’s about every woman watching and feeling permission to evolve herself.

6. Looking ahead to 2026, you’ve hinted at a big fashion year with more surprises. Can you share a bit about that?

Absolutely — so much is coming. I’m developing new creative collaborations, stepping deeper into fashion storytelling, and planning a full collection before summer. It’s going to be a year where I play in these rooms more and more — not as an observer, but as a creator and contributor. I can’t wait for people to see what’s been brewing behind the scenes.

7. How do you think your approach to fashion intersects with your message of empowerment?

Style is a form of self‑expression. When you choose what you wear with intention — not to fit in, but to show up as you — you’re declaring your voice. I want women to feel they can play, explore, and express themselves without shame — no matter their age, no matter expectations. That’s empowerment in action.

8. What advice do you have for women who feel it’s “too late” to reinvent themselves?

It’s never too late. Growth doesn’t have a deadline; it has a desire. The moment you decide you want to change is the moment your next chapter begins. You don’t need permission — you just need belief in your own story.

9. What has been the most surprising part of stepping into this chapter?

Honestly, how liberating it feels. The discomfort of starting something new often becomes the birthplace of possibility. Looking back, the moments I feared most were the ones that shaped me the most. And seeing others respond — feeling seen in their own journeys — that’s the real reward.

10. Finally, if you could sum up the essence of this era in one sentence, what would it be?

Own your evolution loudly, unapologetically, and on your own terms. That’s what this chapter is about and I’m just getting started.

2025 was a year of planting. 2026 is the garden in bloom, full of colour, possibility, and fearless growth.
