Sir Alex Ferguson taken to hospital before Manchester United v Liverpool game
Sir Alex Ferguson was taken to hospital from Old Trafford after feeling unwell before Manchester United’s hosting of Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The move is thought to be a precautionary rather than an emergency measure regarding the 84-year-old former United manager who won 13 Premier League titles and the Champions League twice in his 27-year tenure at Old Trafford. Ferguson is a regular at United’s home games and has a row of seats in the Old Trafford directors’ box.
Ferguson was pictured at the stadium on Sunday before kick-off before being taken to hospital. The legendary manager had a brain haemorrhage in 2018, which was life-threatening and which he spoke of three years later.
United did not comment when contacted by the Guardian on Sunday afternoon.
