TV tonight: a stirring exploration of some grim goings on in Ruislip

Do You Know This Man?

10pm, Channel 4

Drug dealer Martin Butler turned his house into a party venue and the kids of Ruislip gravitated towards it. As a result, several of them were raped. This bleak but stirring documentary tells, in unvarnished style, the story of Laura Hughes, Lauren Preston and Mary Sharp who, decades after the offences, joined forces to bring Butler to justice. Their testimony is extraordinary: the trauma is still evident but it’s matched by their guts and resilience. Phil Harrison

In her new series, the people’s professor takes a break from maths to explore the science that could transform our future lives. First up: all things anti-ageing. In the US, we meet a biohacking influencer and a scientist making strides towards prolonging life; then it’s on to Japan, where it turns out the secret to longevity might be butterflies. Race Across the World

8pm, BBC One

The lovable travel show gets real in this penultimate episode, as the teams hit Mongolia. Up to now, they’ve enjoyed relatively balmy weather and comparatively well-worn tourist trails – but here things are going to get chilly, rugged and a little more off-road. How will they cope? PH

Amandaland

9pm, BBC One

SoHa finally has the pretentious coffee shop Amanda (Lucy Punch) has been waiting for, so she celebrates by instigating a collab where she snaps pics for the ’gram. But her digital marketing skills are soon outstripped by Anne (Philippa Dunne) who becomes a horticulture influencer by mistake. Humiliation beckons for both. JS

The lived-in comic chemistry between Gregor Fisher, as a harrumphing pensioner, and Greg McHugh, as his out-of-work actor son, elevates this house-share sitcom. As the second series continues, widower Ken gets back into dating and sadsack Richard considers making major life changes ahead of his 40th. Graeme Virtue

Kidnapped By My Mum

9pm, BBC Three

In 2017, 11-year-old Alex Batty went on holiday to Spain with his mother and grandfather (neither of whom was his legal guardian) and didn’t return. Six years later, he was found hitchhiking alone in the Pyrenees. In this non-sensationalist (but still horrifying) documentary, Alex retraces his journey, confronting his trauma as he tries to understand his mum’s actions. LE
