CATALIST-LISTED engineering solutions provider Koh Brothers Eco Engineering was awarded a S$313.9 million contract by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor (KBCE).
Under the contract commencing on Jan 6, KBCE will be designing and constructing a multi-storey bus depot at Lorong Halus.
This includes the design, construction, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the architectural, civil and structural, building services, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as bus depot equipment.
The 54-month contract is expected to be completed by 2029, said the group on Wednesday (Dec 25).
The bus depot will consist of the main depot building with parking and operational facilities, along with ancillary buildings and their related amenities.
The four-storey bus depot is expected to have a minimum parking capacity of 550 buses, said Koh Brothers Eco.

The main building will also incorporate admin facilities, workshop offices and infrastructure for technicians, operation areas, workshop bays and storages, among other facilities.
KBCE will also handle road improvement works, including new roads, road widening or realignment, and signalised traffic intersections to facilitate vehicle movements to and from the bus depot, said the company.
Paul Shin, Koh Brothers Eco’s chief executive, noted that with the addition of the bus depot contract, on top of existing orders, the group has an order book of about S$899.7 million.
Other projects
The group’s latest contract comes after KBCE won a S$77.6 million contract from Sport Singapore for an upcoming Toa Payoh development.
As part of that contract, KBCE will be responsible for piling, ground improvement and earth-retaining stabilising structure installations at the Toa Payoh Integrated Development site.
The group noted that its contract with Sport Singapore, on top of other new orders secured since Jun 30, 2024, could lift its order book to an estimated S$585.7 million till 2027.
Shin said: “We will continue to strategically tender for more projects where we hold a competitive advantage… to maintain a healthy order book to support sustainable growth.”
Koh Brothers Eco also noted that its order book remains well-supported by ongoing contracts with Singapore’s public utilities and housing boards.
As KBCE holds an “A1” grade from the Building and Construction Authority for both building and civil engineering categories, the company is allowed to tender for building and civil infrastructure projects of unlimited value.
Major public infrastructure projects that KBCE participated in include the development of River Valley High School and a hostel at Boon Lay Avenue (both commissioned by the Ministry of Education). It also constructed the Singapore Civil Defence Force Headquarters Complex in Ubi, which was commissioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Shares of Koh Brothers Eco ended 2.3 per cent or S$0.001 higher at S$0.044 on Tuesday.
