New Software Targets Coin Dealers’ Inventory Woes
A new inventory management platform aimed at professional coin and bullion dealers made its public debut this week at a major numismatic trade show in Pittsburgh, signaling a fresh attempt to modernize back-office operations in an industry long reliant on manual recordkeeping.
CoinDealerPro, founded by Josh Stahl, officially launched on Aug. 26 during the 2026 ANA World’s Fair of Money. The rollout followed an interactive presentation in which Stahl walked attendees through the software’s design and fielded questions from dealers about how it could replace their existing systems. In the days before the reveal, Stahl said he met directly with dealers, bullion traders and shop owners to understand their current processes and gauge interest in a dedicated platform. According to the company, ambassadors distributed more than 500 promotional flyers ahead of the event, alongside a convention-wide announcement encouraging attendees to attend.
The platform is built specifically for numismatic businesses, a niche that company officials say has historically lacked purpose-built software options. Its feature set includes inventory and cost-basis tracking with full transaction history, bullion-specific support, point-of-sale functionality, customer relationship management tools, memo tracking, grading-submission management and payment tracking. Rather than addressing a single piece of the dealer workflow, the company describes CoinDealerPro as a broader operational system meant to give business owners a consolidated view of their inventory across multiple sales channels and business models, from retail shop counters to wholesale and online operations.
Stahl said the response from dealers during the launch week reflected pent-up demand for a dedicated solution. He noted that many professionals he spoke with were still managing inventory through spreadsheet programs or improvised systems not designed for the specific demands of tracking coins, bullion and precious metals. Following the launch, CoinDealerPro said it plans to work directly with early adopters to help transition their existing inventory records into the new platform, a process the company frames as central to its onboarding strategy going forward.
The numismatic trade has historically operated with a patchwork of tools borrowed from broader retail and wholesale sectors. Generic point-of-sale systems and spreadsheet software can track basic sales data but often fall short when it comes to the specialized needs of coin and bullion dealers, such as tracking fluctuating metal content values, grading submissions to third-party services, and the provenance of individual pieces moving through a shop’s inventory. Industry observers have noted that this gap has left many small and mid-sized dealers managing complex operations with tools not designed for their business model.
The broader inventory and point-of-sale software market has grown steadily as small and mid-sized retailers across specialty sectors seek tools tailored to their specific compliance, tracking and customer-management needs rather than relying on one-size-fits-all platforms. Coin and bullion dealers, in particular, operate in a market shaped by fluctuating precious metals prices, third-party grading services and a mix of retail, wholesale and online sales channels, all of which can complicate standard inventory practices. Software vendors serving niche trades have increasingly positioned specialization as a competitive advantage over broader retail platforms.
CoinDealerPro said a recording of its product reveal presentation will be posted to the company’s YouTube channel for dealers who were unable to attend the Pittsburgh event.
