Antony sends message to Amorim after being put on five-player Man Utd exit list
Antony spent the second half of last season out on loan at Real Betis and the Brazil winger is expected to leave Manchester United on a permanent basis this summer
Antony has sent a message to Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim after sharing clips of himself training on social media. Antony is one of five players who have been allowed to report back late for pre-season as they seek moves away from Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia are the other four players, although fresh reports have claimed that Garnacho has now been given permission to join up with the rest of the squad at Carrington.
Antony, though, is still training away from United after spending the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis. The winger, who joined the Red Devils from Ajax for around £82million back in 2022, failed to make much of an impact at Old Trafford.
Antony managed just 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances across all competitions for United, but found some form at Betis where he scored nine goals and produced five assists in just 26 games.
And the 25-year-old looks to be working hard in training as he awaits news about his future, having shared footage of himself training alongside fellow Brazilian footballers such as Walce and Igor Belmiro.

According to a new report from Spanish outlet Sport, Antony is ‘burning with desire’ to join Betis on a permanent basis and the club are confident they can reach an agreement with the Red Devils.
The report adds that United want around £40m and Betis are willing to pay that in instalments, with an initial £20m paid up front this summer. When quizzed on Antony’s future earlier this month, Betis president Angel Haro told Cope Sevilla that the move is dependent on “on Manchester United, Antony and on Betis being willing to pay the transfer fee”.
Haro said: “We’re talking to the player because coming to Betis entails a considerable reduction in salary, because we have to maintain our financial discipline and we don’t want to break it.
“He’s a fantastic player; he’s given us a lot in the last six months, but we have to get everything right; we can’t go crazy. We’re working on that path because it’s not easy. We’re very imaginative when it comes to approaching this type of transaction, but it’s complex.
“It involves the player, who loves Betis, but he also has to consider his own interests. We’ll have to see if he comes; he’s no longer here. We’re working on that path; it won’t be easy. Manchester [United] paid a significant amount, and he has two years left on his contract.”
