Former Arsenal striker Mika Biereth is once again worth more than what the Gunners paid to sign Viktor Gyokeres
Former Arsenal striker Mika Biereth’s transfer value has risen once again, despite a tough start to the season. The 22-year-old was with the Gunners for three years after being signed from Fulham in 2021.
However, Biereth left the Emirates Stadium to sign for Sturm Graz in a £4million deal in the summer of 2024 after failing to make a single first-team appearance for Arsenal. During his time in north London, Biereth made the senior matchday squad four times – all in January 2022 – but didn’t feature in any of those games.
After netting 14 goals in 25 appearances during the first half of the 2024/25 season for Sturm Graz, Monaco decided to swoop in and sign Biereth for £13m back in January this year.
He continued his fine form into the latter end of the campaign, as he struck 13 goals in 19 matches for his new club to end with a combined 27 in 44 matches last term.

However, Biereth has struggled for form so far this season, scoring just once in 15 appearances for Monaco across all competitions. Nevertheless, his value has increased compared to what it was during the summer.
According to CIES Football Observatory, Biereth’s transfer value has risen from £64m in August to £66m.
That is higher than the current worth of Arsenal forward Viktor Gyokeres, after the club splashed out £55m as an initial fee to sign him from Sporting CP back in July.
Biereth last found the back of the net for Monaco in a 5-2 victory over Metz back in September. He was in the starting line-up for the 4-1 home defeat against Lens last time out and made two appearances for Denmark during the international break.
Monaco’s next fixture sees them travel to Rennes in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Gyokeres has experienced a somewhat inconsistent beginning to his Arsenal career following his summer switch from Sporting. The Sweden international has managed six goals in 14 outings this campaign.
The former Brighton striker last scored against Burnley earlier this month. He netted his side’s second in a 2-0 victory, though he was substituted at the interval after suffering a muscle injury.
“I am concerned because he hasn’t had many muscular issues and he had to leave the pitch,” Arteta told reporters on November 3. “He was feeling something and that’s obviously never a good sign.
“Especially for a player that is very, very explosive, so we are digging in a little bit more to understand where we are in terms of the injury and we will announce it when we know more.”
When Gyokeres might return from injury remains uncertain, with Arsenal hoping the striker can return as quickly as possible ahead of a congested fixture schedule following the international break.
