Everything you need to know about all of the coaches Emmar Raducanu has worked with as she splits with Francis Roig after just six months…
- Nigel Sears: Sears and Raducanu joined forces in the weeks leading up to her on-grass debut in 2021, with the Englishman coaching her through an emphatic Wimbledon run that year. The two ultimately parted ways as a result of Raducanu looking to find a mentor with previous elite-level experience.
- Andrew Richardson: Raducanu and Richardson worked alongside one another for the 2021 US Open which the Briton clinched her first Grand Slam title at. The coach was only on a trial contract at the time, and failed to secure a permanent tenure on Team Raducanu.
- Torben Beltz: Weeks afterwards, Raducanu enlisted the help of Beltz, but split with his stewardship just five months later, looking to a new training model with the support of the LTA.
- Dmitry Tursunov: Tursunov embarked on an extended trial period with Raducanu in the second-half of 2022, but by the end of the year, they had gone their separate ways.
- Sebastian Sachs: Sachs stepped up to the plate as Raducanu’s stint under Tursunov ended, but was sent packing as her 2023 season was cut short through surgery.
- Nick Cavaday: Cavaday worked with Raducanu for 14 months from the start of the 2024 season – the longest partnership of the star’s career thus far. However, health issues on the coach’s end forced their time together to an end.
- Vlademir Platenik: Platenik’s trial with Raducanu in March 2025 lasted just 14 days. A spokesperson for the star at the time said: “Emma has utmost respect for Vlado and the work they started but it wasn’t quite heading in the right direction.”
- Mark Petchey: Andy Murray’s former coach worked with Raducanu in early 2025. His stint was never meant to run for an extended period.
- Francisco Roig: A former coach to Rafael Nadal, Roig teamed up with Raducanu midway through 2025 and remained at her side until Thursday afternoon, when the two split amicably. Read the full story here.
