Gwyneth Paltrow embraces the nostalgia when it comes to her relationship with Brad Pitt.
After meeting on the set of the film Se7en in 1994, the costars got engaged in 1996, before calling things off a year later. Still, almost three decades after their whirlwind romance, she still sings his praises and understands why he’s always a topic in her life.
“He’s a very intriguing character,” Gwyneth—who shares children Apple, 20, and Moses, 18, with ex-husband Chris Martin—said in an interview with Vanity Fair published March 18. “Like having dated, I don’t know, Prince William or something. That’s always going to come up.”
And dating Brad, 61, at the start of her career taught her about prioritizing her love life, over work life. It’s a lesson that she has no regrets about—even after being scolded by a higher up for requesting time off a film to be with Brad.
