‘I couldn’t believe when I saw Shearer at Oasis – I told security f*** off!’

Former Manchester City right-back Micah Richards and ex-Newcastle United forward Alan Shearer were in attendance at Wembley Stadium for Oasis – and the duo bumped into each other

Micah Richards has revealed he told a security guard to “f*** off” after spotting Alan Shearer at the final Oasis gig at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Richards and Shearer were both in attendance as Oasis performed their 28th and final comeback show in the United Kingdom, before travelling out to Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

After both were present on BBC’s Match of the Day on Saturday night, there was a realisation that Richards and Shearer could bump into each other at Wembley for Oasis, who were performing in front of 90,000 fans.

And it was a reunion that ended up happening. Indeed, Richards has admitted that he went across to see Shearer after they both had a box near each other, though security made it difficult for him.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football, host Gary Lineker asked Richards and Shearer how Oasis was.

Richards, who explained how he got to Wembley a little bit late, started: “I was thinking, ‘That can’t be Alan next door… ‘I look to my left, I see him boogieing away and I’m like, ‘Go on Alan!'”

Shearer added: “I look to my right and I see this d*** coming towards me with a hat on. I was like, ‘That can’t be Micah,’ and it was!”

Richards continued: “And you know what was funny yeah? I was going there, so there’s a box there. So Alan was like on the other side. So out box was here, and Alan’s in a box to the left of me but to the far end.

“So I’ve walked over to go and this woman stops me, saying ‘You can’t go over there, you’re not allowed. You’ve not got permission.’ I went, ‘F*** off! I’m f***ing Micah Richards!'”

Lineker poked fun at Richards and joked: “Do you know who I am?”

Shearer said: “We need to keep the riff-raff out Micah.”

Richards finished: “Because I had my hat on, and then as soon as I put my hat up and ‘I’m going to see Alan.’ I didn’t really say, ‘I’m Micah Richards,’ that was just for comedy effect. I said, ‘ No, I know Alan,’ she’s like, ‘No, no, no.’

“I had a bucket hat on so you couldn’t see my full face. So I pulled it up and she said, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry he’s just over there.’ So I went to see him and he was with Frank Lampard wasn’t he? Old team-mate.”

Lampard, now the manager at Championship side Coventry City, played alongside Shearer in the England national team for a short period before the ex-Newcastle United man retired from international football.
