Jake Paul told to immediately sack employee ahead of Anthony Joshua fight
The YouTuber-turned-boxer faces his toughest test as a professional later this month against the former two-time heavyweight champion
Jake Paul has been brutally told to fire his advisors just weeks before he is due to trade leather with Anthony Joshua.
The boxing novice has made big strides in the sport since making his professional debut back in 2020. Since his first outing, Paul has largely faced former UFC stars. With wins over the likes of Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley, the American’s sole defeat in the ring came against Tommy Fury back in 2023.
A natural cruiserweight, Paul is set to move up a weight for his dust-up with Joshua. That said, he does have some slight experience in boxing’s heaviest weight class. In November 2024, the ‘Problem Child’ scored a dominant win over heavyweight legend Mike Tyson.
However, heading into this one, many have feared for Paul’s health, condemning the bout and calling it for to be scrapped entirely. Top British heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma did not mince his words when asked for his thoughts on the controversial Miami melee – scheduled to take place on December 19.

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will face off for a heavyweight clash in Miami on December 19. The fight will stream live on Netflix, which fans can get for free with Sky’s £15 Essential TV bundle, the brand’s ‘lowest ever price’ for Sky TV.
“Jake Paul needs to fire his advisors, these people that make these fights because that’s not good,” he said. “Did Jake Paul not watch the Ngannou fight? Do you know what, there’s making money and then there’s like… it’s just absurd. I don’t think Jake Paul is bad for boxing, I think he’s good, I like Jake Paul. You see what he’s doing with women’s boxing as well, I like Jake Paul.
“And I’m not saying he shouldn’t take the fight. I just feel like he needs to weigh the outcomes. Like, say, I don’t know what, $50 mill-then my health. Cars and watches [but] can’t say my name… is it worth it? And if he wants to fight Anthony Joshua then go and do it, it’s not my life. Me personally, if I was Jake Paul’s brother [Logan], I’d be very worried.”
While Itauma has severely ripped into the contest, the Brit may not be too overly concerned with how it all goes down later this month. The undefeated star has a fight of his own and is expected to return to the ring on January 24 in Manchester against Jermaine Franklin – who went the distance with both Dillian Whyte and Joshua.

The 20-year-old is coming into the contest with a point to prove and is eager to silence his doubters on fight night. “Franklin, great fight, great fighter. The reason why everybody feels it’s a perfect fight [for me] is because what he does well, there’s questions marks on my career,” Itauma said at the launch press conference.
“I believe this fight is the best for my development. Not only that, I can finally shut a few people up. It might not get there [the later rounds], and if it does get there then them questions are finally answered. You guys are just going to have to wait, tune in and see.
“I believe Dempsey McKean and the same fire; Dillian Whyte had the same fire so it’s nothing new. I feel like even though I’ve been in this pro game for two-and-a-half years I feel like it’s been 10. This boxing stuff it’s something I’ve got to do. I don’t like not being in the gym. When Jermaine Franklin came to my attention, I was like let’s make it happen. He’s here to give me a couple rounds but he’s here to win. As easy as it is to say he’s here to give me a couple of rounds, I’ve got to live up to those high expectations.”
When is Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul?
Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will clash in Miami on December 19, just six days before Christmas. The pair will likely walk to the ring at around 11pm local time which would be 4am in the UK. Fight times are usually set to benefit the American audience and are subject to change depending on how long the undercard takes to complete. The event is set to be shown live on Netflix.
