“I will say this if you like close up magic tricks, you’ll be very happy with my Oscars performance,” O’Brien joked to ABC News last month. “I spent a lot of my own money polling Americans and saying, ‘Would you like to see Conan O’Brien sing and dance?’ Shocking response. People don’t want it, which means they’ll probably try and do it.”
As he quipped, “I like to be an irritant. Let’s just say there are many possibilities.”
Among those cheering on both Harris and O’Brien from the audience are this year’s nominees, including Ariana Grande, Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña.
