Robert Redford’s Grandkids Share Rare Photos in Moving Tributes After His Death

For seven people, Robert Redford was simply Grandpa.

Following the Oscar winner’s death at age 89 on Sept. 16, several of his grandchildren paid tribute with never-before-seen family photos of him.

“He was larger than life to the world, but to his family, he was simply that…family,” Conor Schlosser, son of Robert’s daughter Shauna Redford and Eric Schlosser, wrote on Instagram. “Rest in peace, Grandpa.”

The 33-year-old, who included photos of himself and the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid star riding a horse, opening presents, sitting down for dessert and golfing together, added, “If anyone has a favorite story of him you’d like to share, please send it to me in a private message—I’d love to collect them.”

And riding horses with his family was clearly a favorite pastime as Lena Redford—daughter of Robert’s late son James Redford and his wife Kyle Redford—also shared horseback photos, as well as pics of the two sharing sweet moments with family.
