The Bachelorette’s Katie Thurston Details Being in “Survival Mode” Amid Breast Cancer Battle – E! Online

Katie Thurston is fighting for her life.

The Bachelorette alum gave insight into her ongoing battle with breast cancer, detailing how she’s been in “survival mode” amid her treatment. 

“You don’t have a choice—you show up or you die,” Katie explained on the March 19 episode of Good Morning America of being thrown into the treatment process which, for her, meant going through chemotherapy first. “And I hate to say it that way, but, like…every day you have an appointment, every day you have to show up. You don’t have a choice.”

The FBoy Island alum revealed that she was diagnosed with Stage 3 triple positive ductal carcinoma in February after finding a lump on her breast.

“When I felt my lump, it was sore, and as women were used to being told like, ‘Oh, it’s probably their time of the month,’ or ‘Oh, it’s from working out,’ so I brushed it off for a while,” Katie explained. “And then finally I decided to go to the doctor.”
