US: Wall St muted at open after April inflation data

[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes were subdued at the open on Tuesday (May 13), as investors assessed the latest inflation numbers and their impact on monetary policy after markets came off sharp gains from the temporary Sino-US trade truce.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 97.2 points, or 0.23 per cent, at the open to 42507.33. The S&P 500 rose 10 points, or 0.17 per cent, at the open to 5854.15​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 52.9 points, or 0.28 per cent, to 18761.234 at the opening bell. REUTERS
