West Ham identify four Graham Potter replacements as beleaguered boss faces axe

West Ham are seriously considering sacking Graham Potter after their dismal start to the season continued with a home defeat by London rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday
Graham Potter is clinging to his job after coming under increasing pressure as West Ham manager. The Hammers hierarchy are seriously considering making a change with former Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo the leading contender to take over.
Former Irons boss Slaven Bilic, ex-Wolves boss Gary O’Neil and former Everton manager Sean Dyche have also been under consideration.
Potter, 50, has struggled badly at West Ham after taking over last January and they find themselves second from bottom after just one win from their opening five games.
There were big fan protests against the board before their latest defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday and David and Karren Brady have taken the majority of the supporter backlash.

However, the Hammers faithful did turn on the players and Potter during and after the Palace game which has left the manager’s position under increasing pressure.
Vice chair Brady did give her public support to Potter last month but since then results have not improved apart from their solitary win this season at Nottingham Forest.
The club have always backed managers and given them every chance to turn things around which is why they have stuck with Potter so far.
But they have a big decision to make in the next few days over whether to stick with Potter for the short term let alone to see if he can turn things around.
West Ham’s next game is at Everton on Monday, September 29, and that will be crucial – if he does indeed stay in charge to lead the team at Goodison Park.
Potter did appear to accept his position and future is in great jeopardy after the club’s shocking start to the season.
Potter said after the Palace game: “I understand the climate, the expectation, the environment. I have no complaints at all about the club or the support we’ve had, but I understand the results are not positive.
“We have to accept that and change it around. We need to improve, find that balance and solution.”
