Why Robin Wright Says Princess Bride 2 “Will Never Happen”

Robin Wright Reveals Why She Left the U.S. & Moved to England

Robin Wright thinks a sequel to The Princess Bride would be inconceivable.

And while the actress and her costars from the 1987 classic—including Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Billy Crystal, Chris Sarandon and Christopher Guest—have often been asked about a sequel to the Rob Reinerdirected film, they’re not ready to storm the castle again.

“Sometime after we hit the 30-year mark, the cast did a Zoom call,” Robin shared in an interview with AARP published Sept. 18. “A couple of actors were like, ‘We’ve been asked if we’ll do a sequel.’”

As the 59-year-old recalled jokingly telling them, “‘Well, a lot of us are going to be in a wheelchair.’ So no, no, that will never happen.”

Still, Robin—who shares kids Dylan Frances Penn, 34, and Hopper Jack Penn, 32, with ex husband Sean Pennhas only fond memories of filming.

“We laughed so hard making that movie,” she shared. “We’d have to cut camera and start over again because it was such a giggle-fest.”
